About the event

This new moon, join us in exploring Self-Empathy, an emotional self-care practice you can use on the daily to shift from confusion to clarity, from judgment & reactivity to inner spaciousness & compassion, and from stuckness to inspired action.

  • When: Saturday April 30th, 12pm arrival, we will start on time at 1pm and finish around 4:30pm
    • You are welcome to join Awake's silent group meditation from 5:00-5:45pm after the workshop
  • Where: Surya Shala, Awake, Uvita
  • Energy exchange: $30 or 20 mil (cash or Bitcoin via Bitcoin Jungle App)
    • CR national price: $15/10mil
  • 20 spaces available: please reserve your spot in advance

Please bring:

  • a journal & pen
  • water bottle & snacks
  • umbrella/rain gear (as there is a short walk from the workshop space to the bathrooms)
  • anything else you need for your comfort (cushions will be provided)

What to expect:

✓ We'll begin with a guided centering to ground and deepen our experience of Presence within

✓ You'll discover what self-empathy is through a live demo and a guided exploration of each step of the practice

✓ You'll get to experience & play with the process in full, and will be given materials to help integrate this emotional self-care into your daily life!

Exercices will be done individually and in pairs, and there will be moments of large group sharing and Q&A.

This workshop is open to all, whether you're a seasoned explorer of your inner world and of conscious communication, or just beginning your discovery!

More on self-empathy:

The self-empathy process is a way of deepening our connection to ourselves. It's a mindfulness and emotional self-care practice that helps us to come back into Presence, to welcome what’s alive in us underneath our triggers, judgments and initial reactions. It enables us to shift from confusion, overwhelm and inner conflict to greater clarity and connection to our inner resources, so that we can more consciously respond to life.

Self-empathy is one of the three major components of NonViolent Communication: it restores the inner spaciousness we need to listen to others empathically, and the groundedness to express our truth effectively. It's also a great way to savor our accomplishments and realizations, to recognize and celebrate what deeply matters to us!

Your guide:

This workshop will be facilitated by Maud Urbas, joyous member of the Awake Community and Conscious Communication Trainer & Coach. She offers workshops, circles, as well as 1-on-1 sessions to support those wishing to deepen their connection to self, others and nature, so that we may collectively expand into our full potential and co-create a thriving world. She draws on her years of practice & training in NonViolent Communication, Focusing, Souluna Life Coaching, Yoga and meditation.
