About the event
Intro to Forum - with Ian MacKenzie
This Intro to Forum offers a welcoming and grounded entry point into the Forum practice (also known as ZEGG Forum) — a powerful relational process developed within intentional communities to cultivate trust, transparency, and collective intelligence.
Over the course of this introductory session, Ian MacKenzie will introduce the core principles, structure, and purpose of Forum. Through explanation, live demonstration, and light experiential elements, participants will get a felt sense of how Forum creates a “safe enough” container for truth-telling, presence, and deeper connection within groups.
Forum emerged in Germany as a response to what often lives beneath the surface in groups — unspoken emotions, tensions, and relational undercurrents that quietly shape culture and decision-making. By offering a structured space where one person at a time is witnessed by the group, Forum supports authenticity, empathy, and resilience at both individual and collective levels.
This session is designed as a taste — a stand-alone introduction that also serves as a foundation for those considering our 2-day Forum Immersion on Jan 15–16, where we will dive much more deeply into facilitation roles, mirrors, group dynamics, and the transformative potential of Forum as a long-term community practice.
Whether you’re new to Forum, curious about relational culture, or exploring tools to strengthen groups, teams, or communities, this introduction offers a meaningful doorway into the work - and a chance to feel whether the deeper immersion is right for you.
Accessible, experiential, and grounded in lived practice.
