Through yoga philosophy, mantra, raga music and heart opening kirtans we will explore yoga as a path of integrating all dimensions of oneself : body, mind, emotions and energy.
Featuring world-class teachers all convening at Awake for this special day to bring yogic culture to the people. You will experience classes, workshops, performances and wild kirtans that elevate your heart to the place of devotion and surrender.Â
Learn About The Presenters:Â
Zamir Dhanji - Founder of Mystic Yogi, Zamir will be teaching the Holistic Yoga Teach Training at Awake in April. His classes and teachings integrate the psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga into the asana classes using mantra, story, meditation and somatic practices bridging psycotherapy principles with yogic teachings.Â
Prosad Freeman - A true Mystic Musician, Prosad has studied sitar for 20 years, with dedicated learning at the Ali Akhbar Khan School of music. He has been a long-time disciple of Master Tulsi Shen, learning the power of mantra and vedic teachings to embody the ancient principles of success.Â
Jamil Apostol - Jamil  serves to fuse global cultural musical influences with the ancient traditional mantra chants of the East, making them accessible to all walks of life. He founded the Butter Thieves, a Kirtan Fusion project, and also tours with the Kirtaniyas - a global kirtan phenomena.Â
Andrea Vargas - Andrea is a master of both Kathak and Odissia dance, and is the founder of Academia Ave Shanti, a school for classical Indian Dance in San Jose. Her dedication to both the mastery of form and feeling is felt through her dance, where she transports the audience into a world of gods and goddesses through her movements.Â
