About the event
Brave Earth: Building a Center for Applied Cultural Transition
Talk hosted by Aly Khan Ladha
After a decade in finance, Aly Khan redirected his life toward radical solidarity with Gaia - a shift that culminated in co-founding Brave Earth, one of Costa Rica’s most visionary land-based projects.
In this session, he will take participants behind the scenes of how Brave Earth came into being: the intention, the experiments, the failures, and the breakthroughs.
Aly Khan will illuminate:
• How they structured the center around applied cultural transition
• How roles, systems, and rhythms emerge within a living community
• The balance between pragmatism, sacredness, and innovation
• The challenges behind making a center thrive — financially, socially, ecologically
Aly Khan’s talk offers hard-won insight for anyone building or stewarding a land-based project. You’ll walk away with a grounded understanding of how intention becomes infrastructure, culture and economic realities.
This talk is part of the Regenerative Stewardship Lab Event & Talk Series from January 6th - 14th. Come enjoy each evening event individually, or mix and match as you like! Find more info about the Regen Lab here.
