Authentic Relating

with

Jessica White

16:00 – 18:00
Thursday 12 Mar

Enjoy an afternoon with community in deeper authenticity and connection, while raising awareness and expanding communication tools.

What is Authentic Relating

At its simplest, authentic relating is a groundbreaking relational practice that creates profoundly enriching, enlivening, and nourishing relationships in all social domains of life, from the bedroom to the boardroom, with intimate partners and perfect strangers and everyone in between. Authentic relating is both a key and a map that allows people to unlock and explore the vast and extraordinary landscape of human connection that lies beyond the scope of most typical relationships. It is a practice that heals old wounds, softens and settles reactive nervous systems, and allows people to be deeply seen, heard, and accepted for who they are – even in their most recessed, darkest, scariest innermost selves.

Authentic relating is a strongly effective prescription for social isolation and loneliness and all of its attendant manifestations – depression, anxiety, hopelessness, addiction, self-harm, and even physical degeneration. Humans need to be in connection with other humans – when we are in connection with others, we thrive and are productive and creative, and when we aren’t, we wither and suffer, and become despondent, lethargic, and lifeless.

Authentic Relating helps me to be more of myself, giving room for the wisdom of my body to be part of the relational dynamic, thus encouraging me in deeper presence and in touch with the rawness and compassion for humanity - my own and others.

Special Event

CEREMONIA

with

GaiYatra

18:30 – 22:00
Saturday 14 Mar

CEREMONIA

A Deep & Intimate Dance Ritual with GaiYatra

About the Event

Ceremonia is a long-form ceremonial dance journey guided by GaiYatra — an invitation to move beyond the rush of short sets and enter a deeper, more intentional arc of sound, movement, and presence.

This gathering is designed as a ritual in motion. We begin slowly, with intention, allowing the space and the collective field to settle. From there, the journey unfolds organically through music, rhythm, and embodied exploration — creating room to travel through emotion, sensation, and shared connection.

This is not a party.

It is not a performance.

It is a shared ceremony shaped by the people who arrive.

The Experience

Ceremonia offers a 2.5-hour uninterrupted dance journey, guided in real time. There is no fixed playlist, no forced peaks, and no predetermined outcome. The music breathes, softens, deepens, and rises again — responding to what is alive in the room.

The arc moves through heart-felt ceremonial music, organic and mystical soundscapes, tribal and bass-heavy grooves, playful and tender moments, darker depths, and ecstatic release. As the evening unfolds, the space gradually shifts into a more intimate, low-lit atmosphere, supporting deeper immersion, expansion, and integration.

This extended format allows the body and spirit to move widely and deeply — with enough time to arrive, open, explore, release, and land.

What You’ll Receive

• A long-form, ceremonial ecstatic dance journey

• Space to explore a wide emotional and energetic spectrum

• Deep connection to rhythm as a language of the body

• A grounded, heart-centered collective field

• An experience that unfolds only once — shaped by who is present

Schedule

Saturday, March 14

6:30–9:00 PM

GaiYatra

GaiYatra doesn’t play sets — he opens journeys. His work lives at the intersection of ceremony, rhythm, and relationship, where sound becomes a living dialogue with the dancefloor.

His musical language weaves organic textures, deep bass, and gentle psychedelic edges, moving through mystical, ecstatic, tender, raw, playful, and deeply uplifting states. Drawing from years of travel and immersion - including India, the Middle East, drumming circles, shamanic journeys, and intentional festival spaces — his sound is guided less by genre and more by feeling.

GaiYatra listens. He reads the room. Each journey is shaped in real time, responding to the collective energy present. No two Ceremonias are the same - each is a one-time story that leaves behind a subtle shift, a softness, a remembering.

For GaiYatra, DJing is not performance.

General Admission:

$20

Tico $10

Additional Notes

• Please arrive on time to support the ceremonial arc

• Come ready to move, feel, and listen

• Bring water and wear comfortable clothing

• This is a sober, intentional dance space

Ecstatic Dance

with

Andrew Avocados

11:11 – 13:30
Sunday 15 Mar

Intention

May we offer our prayers, for ourselves and for this Earth, with our entire being. May we surrender to the life force and to Great Spirit, everything is blessed if we allow it to be felt. May we reveal more of the Self, integrating all that we are as one ecstatic flow.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a gathering focused on a journey through music and movement. It is a space of self-exploration and self-expression that is free from judgement and free from social expectations. An Ecstatic Dance is a dance that invites us to bring our attention inside, releasing any performance or social pressures, and allowing ourselves to be just as we are. The music is there to activate and resonate with different parts of our being that we are invited to bring into expression through movement. This journey encourages the integration of different parts of our being, the circulation of prana and healing.

When and how to participate?

We hold Ecstatic Dance on a weekly basis on Sunday morning.

People can arrive from 9:30am and we'll start at 11:11 am. Please make sure you arrive in time, as we are starting with an opening circle at 11:11am sharp.

We ask you to join the Ecstatic Church space under the following agreements:

No talking:

Ecstatic dance is a ceremony that is held though movement and sound, stillness and silence. We commit to restrain from verbal communication from the opening circle to the closing circle in the temple, around the temple and on the plaza in front of the temple. For a conversation, we walk away to the fire circle or the lounge. Stepping a few steps out of the shala of the temple is not far enough and we ask you to be out of sight from the temple to talk during the ceremony.

Consensual engagement:

Look for consent when engaging with someone on the dance floor. Honor yourself and show a Namaste hand sign when you need space. No drugs/plant medicines/alcohol and other psychoactive substances before and during the dance and the time at Awake No shooting of pictures or videos without explicit consent from the participants

Cleanliness:

We maintain a clean space for others to remain in honouring of the space and the participants. Cleanliness involves coming to the ceremony reasonably clean, not leaving any trash or compost anywhere but in the trash bin or compost (in the Cora), keeping a clean mind by abstaining from drugs and alcohol, avoiding to disperse sweat on the dance floor if we sweat profusely by wearing a top (and mopping the floor regularly if we spread meaningful amounts of sweat anyway).

Respect of the time container:

We ask that all Ecstatic Church participants leave the space by a specific time. That time is typically 3:30-4:00 pm but is sometimes adjusted based on the activities and needs of the Awake community. Please be mindful to honor that time.

No dogs:

Please do not bring dogs at Awake. If you absolutely must bring a dog, please attach your dog around the entrance gate of the property until you leave. We cannot assume responsibility for your dog.

Personal food:

Please do not consume your own food at Cafe Cora and its lounge nor in or around the Surya Shala and its front plaza. You may consume your food on Awake grounds in nature as long as you pick up all your trash before you leave.

Sunday Lunch Buffet

We are offering an organic, plant-based, delicious lunch buffet every Sunday right after Ecstatic Dance at 1:30pm. The cost is based on weight at 1500 colones per 100g.

See you on the dance floor!

Authentic Relating

with

Lexi

16:00 – 18:00
Thursday 26 Mar

Forrest

09:45 – 10:45
Sunday 29 Mar

In this class:

We have fun

We sweat

We discover new parts of ourselves

We discover who we are in relation to space, movement and other bodies

Contact Improv is a form of dance that can be performed solo, with a partner, or with a group. It is a purely improvisational dance form meaning there are no "moves". When performed it often includes elements of contemporary dance, acrobatics, theatre, partner dance... to name a few.

In this class we use Contact Improv as a doorway into deep connection to source creativity. Everyone is capable of being a vessel for creativity to flow through.

We practice in a playful and focused environment. Through different exercises and games we work on:

Mobility

Reflexes

Agility

Functional strength

Balance

Improvisation

Coordination

Spatial and internal awareness

Creating deep bonds with others

+ more

We create a safe space to push ourselves and each other into the places that are uncomfortable yet rewarding. This class is accessible to all levels of bodies and only requires a willingness to try one’s best. No experience needed!

Authentic Relating

with

Lexi

16:00 – 18:00
Thursday 16 Apr

Where AcroYoga, Authentic Relating, and Tantric Principles meet

Acrotantra Workshop

Step into a space where the silly meets the sacred. In this AcroTantra workshop, we use AcroYoga, authentic relating, and tantric principles to explore trust, presence, and connection. No partner or experience needed — just an open heart and a willingness to play. Together, we’ll uncover the subconscious patterns that shape our lives and open deeper ways of relating to ourselves and others. This is more than movement — it’s a playground for transformation.

Stay for community dinner!
Every Friday evening at 6pm, we are having our Community Dinner at Cafe Cora. Our chef prepares yummy vegan, gluten free food (paid by weight). Stay after the workshop for an evening and meal in community, with your new friends!

Ecstatic Dance

with

GaiYatra

11:11 – 13:30
Sunday 19 Apr
