About the event
What if your yoga practice could become more than a series of shapes?
In a world that often asks us to perform, perfect, and push, it’s easy to lose touch with the deeper intelligence of our bodies. We may find ourselves chasing the outer form—striving for the “right” look, the “correct” alignment—while missing the living, breathing essence that makes yoga truly transformative.
But what if the real magic of yoga lies not in the form, but in the feeling? What if the asana is just the finger pointing to the moon, and the real practice is learning to catch the moonlight?
Join us for a day of embodied exploration, where we move beyond the surface and into the heart of practice.
This immersive workshop, created and facilitated by Zamir, is inspired by the teachings of Donna Farhi, one of the world’s most respected voices in yoga and somatics. Together, we’ll dive into her Seven Moving Principles—somatic sutras that invite us to move from the inside out, to listen deeply, and to let our practice become a living inquiry.
What You’ll Experience
A New Relationship with Your Body: Learn to move from interoception—your felt sense from within—rather than external ideals. Discover how to let go of striving and instead cultivate a practice that is nourishing, sustainable, and deeply authentic.
The Seven Moving Principles in Action: Through guided movement, breathwork, and mindful asana, you’ll experience each principle as a living thread in your practice. These are not just concepts, but embodied experiences that will awaken new possibilities in your movement and teaching.
Mini-Awakenings: Each exercise is designed to create “mini-awakenings”—moments when you catch the feeling of a principle in your body. These insights will ripple out, transforming not just your asana, but your life off the mat.
Tools for Teachers & Practitioners: Whether you’re a teacher seeking to inspire your students, or a practitioner longing for more depth, you’ll leave with practical tools and fresh inspiration to bring into your own practice and classes.
Why These Principles Matter
In Donna Farhi’s words, “We perform the form to practice the principles.”
The form is a doorway, not a destination. When we learn to move from the inside out, our practice becomes a living, breathing inquiry—one that evolves as we do.
These principles—Breathe, Yield, Radiate, Center, Support, Align, Engage, and Return—are not rules to follow, but invitations to explore. They help us:
Reconnect with the intelligence of our bodies
Move with greater ease, safety, and joy
Find stability and freedom, both on and off the mat
Teach and practice yoga in a way that is truly transformative
Who Is This For?
Yoga practitioners ready to move beyond surface-level practice
Yoga teachers seeking to deepen their understanding and inspire their students
Anyone curious about somatic movement, embodiment, and the deeper dimensions of yoga
What You’ll Take Away
A felt sense of each Moving Principle, and how to weave them into any asana or movement practice
Practical exercises and cues you can use immediately
A renewed sense of connection—to your body, your breath, and your life
The inspiration to make your yoga a living, evolving practice
